4S Compliance Checklist

This is a self-assessment we put together from what we see break down most often on-site — not an official Aramco or third-party certification document. Use it to see where your current setup has gaps before an audit finds them for you.
Permit-to-Work
- Every work permit records exactly which workers are assigned to it.
- A permit cannot be approved if any assigned worker is missing a required certification.
- Approval authority is scoped to a specific project, site or zone — not granted org-wide by role alone.
- Completion and independent verification of a permit are tracked as two separate, recorded facts.
Worker Certification
- Every worker has a single digital record of their certifications, not a folder of paper copies.
- Certification expiry dates trigger a flag before they lapse, not after.
- Certification status can be checked on-site in seconds, without a phone call to HR.
- An expired or revoked certification is enforced as a hard block, with no manual override path.
Audit Trail
- Every permit approval, rejection and certification check is written to a permanent, independent record.
- That record can be produced for an external auditor without reconstructing it from spreadsheets.
- Access to safety-critical data is controlled down to specific menus and features, not just broad roles.
- Subcontractor and third-party access is scoped to the specific project they are working on.
Fleet & Equipment
- Vehicle and driver-safety alerts (phone use, drowsiness, lane departure, blind-spot) land in the same system as your incident workflow — not a separate vendor portal.
- Tool and equipment checkout history is tracked per project, site and zone.
- A near-miss or incident can be tied back to the specific camera or zone that covers it.
